# bijlibillwala — MP electricity bill checker

## What does bijlibillwala do?
bijlibillwala helps electricity consumers in Madhya Pradesh check whether their MPPKVVCL electricity bill may contain calculation mistakes, tariff issues, solar net-metering errors, or abnormal charges. It runs 14 mathematical checks on every bill, validates charges against the most recent MPERC tariff order, and generates a written complaint packet when something looks wrong.

## Who is bijlibillwala for?
bijlibillwala is for urban and rural electricity consumers in Madhya Pradesh, including households, small shopkeepers, farmers, rooftop solar users, tenants, and landlords. Anyone who receives a bill from MPPKVVCL.

## Is bijlibillwala an official MPPKVVCL or government website?
No. bijlibillwala is an independent bill analysis tool and is not an official MPPKVVCL or government website. It does not replace official MPPKVVCL, MPERC, or government grievance processes.

## What languages does bijlibillwala support?
Hindi, Marathi, and English. The site uses your browser language by default and you can switch any time using the toggle at the top.

## Where is my bill data stored?
Bill PDFs are parsed inside your browser. The PDF contents never leave your device unless you choose to save the analysis. Parsed bill data is stored on servers in India. Raw IP addresses are not stored — only anonymised hashed identifiers.

## Why was bijlibillwala built?
bijlibillwala is a self-started volunteer initiative under Sharan AI. It began after watching MP families share their MPPKVVCL bill stories on YouTube and WhatsApp — calls to 1912 that went nowhere, retired teachers paying inflated bills they could not decode, farmers whose solar credit silently disappeared. It is built and run by one person. There are no ads, no VC funding, no government grant, and no political backing. Running costs are paid by subscribers — about two cups of chai per month each.

## How can I contact bijlibillwala?
Write to support@mpwz.in or use the in-app support page after sign-in. The MPPKVVCL helpline 1912 is the right place to escalate billing complaints with the utility itself.
